21 - The Exchange
Project aim
To provide psychological support to children and young people who are experiencing
difficulties in their lives. Support the child by focusing on how they can be helped in
developing resilience protective factors
What does the project entail?
Providing an initial assessment of the child’s level of resilience, identify areas where
protective factors are in place and areas of the child’s life where the young person is under-
resourced in the necessary resilience protective factors
Targeted one-to-one work will then follow to address the under-resourced areas with a view
to building up these resources
What is required from the School?
We work in partnership with the schools and families and our meetings with parents and
child take place in the school with the school’s approval.
How do the pupils directly benefit?
Their resilience is strengthened and the protective factors for that child are developed
