Environmental Art Workshops and Events
Project aim
We aim to enhance creativity and well-being through environmental art workshops and
events run in natural settings, such as school grounds, nature reserves and beaches.
What does the project entail?
Environmental art workshops. Our activities are an educational programme of
environmental art workshops run by trained artists, using land and seascapes in Wales as
both inspiration and workshop base. There will be a cost of £225 per day per artist booked
plus cost of materials (sustainable materials such as willow are used so these can either be
supplied at cost or supplied by schools themselves) Up to 30 pupils can take part so price
represents good value for money per pupil.
(Sometimes our workshops may be free to schools if we have managed to arrange
sponsorship or funding to run a particular project).
What is required from the School?
A space to work in school grounds or arrange to meet at a local natural space such as nature
reserve or beach (transport arranged by school)
What does the project entail?
Our projects link in with elements of the curriculum such as the sciences, language,
geography, design technology, team building and creative thinking. They also impact on the
numeracy and literacy skills of our participants in a positive way, contributing to education
targets. Our activities link in with the Foundation Phase for Early Years and also for Key
Stage 2 to further develop positive learning dispositions of wellbeing and engagement.
Educational workshops run provide learning through experience of nature, involving full use
of the senses for our participants and providing high impact lasting childhood memories.
The sculptures or structures that we create in school grounds or temporarily in natural
spaces delight and inspire schools and communities.
