Physical Activity

5 - Bronze Young Ambassadors

Project aim – Bronze Young Ambassadors –

The Active Young People (AYP) team are responsible for providing a variety of exciting sport
and physical activity opportunities for young people aged between 5 and 16 years, as part of
their school extra-curricular programmes and within their local communities.
AYP Swansea would like to see ‘every Child Hooked on Sport for Life’ and we have several
projects to help achieve this across the City.

What does the project entail?

Bronze Young Ambassadors. Who are they?

- Pupils in Years 5&6

- At least 2 per Primary school

- Champions of PE & School sport in their primary school

- The team leaders of other sports leaders in the school

- Become part of the 'sports crew' when they get to year 7 to support Silver YA's

What do they do?

- Deliver the YA outcomes in their Primary Schools

- Work with the teachers to organise events for the school

- Lead and organise playground activities for Years 1-6

- Form part of the school council to deliver the YA outcomes
