HAPPEN School Health Network

10 - Welsh Network Healthy Schools Scheme

Project aim

To develop a health promoting school, where health and wellbeing is embed in the schools’
community through positive actions. The scheme focuses on 7 areas of health to develop
and implement a coherent health education curriculum:

-Food and fitness

-Mental and Emotional Health and Wellbeing

-Personal Development and Relationships

-Substance use and misuse

-Environment

-Safety

-Hygiene

Schools will work on 5 phases of the healthy school scheme, working on actions which are
tailored to the needs of the school and pupils, at the end of each phase a school will receive
an award for their hard work and efforts of healthy education.

- Toolkits
We can also offer advice/info to Governors, Teachers, and Parents

What is required from the School?

All Swansea schools have previously signed up for the Healthy Schools Scheme.
